    Fit to be tied

Amsteel 7/64. Several choices of color. $0.18 per foot. Shipping might not make it worth it up to you, but I have bought from them several times. No issues. http://www.go2marine.com/product/383...blue-rope.html Also recommend Lawson Glowire for tie-outs. He also makes the absolute best pull...

Who is shotgunning from a solo canoe?

Rarely duck hunt from a solo canoe. Pirogue's and mud boats are much more efficient for duck hunting down here being the reason. Hunted my share of ducks, and still have every one of my signed Federal Duck Stamps since 1968. Daughter wants to frame them all together whenever I stop or die. Hope...

    Describe your seasons and climate

Seeker, I am truly sorry that you find your existence in your part of the state of Louisiana so miserable. You have repeatedly complained about being in Louisiana for years on multiple forums, so there is little doubt that you find your preference elsewhere. I sincerely hope that you can find...

    Live aboard motor canoe project

Hey Mike, would you care to share a source on the anchor poles, t-handles and tips? I have some SS rod mud anchors that work great for fishing in the marsh, but I never carry them in canoes due to the weight. Those you have look perfect.

    Freedom Solo 16'

"it just parts them and then sneaks through ..." Really looking forward to the rest of the build and then your final opinion, but with that description it sure confirms why you preserved the existing sheer line. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, just improve it. And I can see how building...

    Freedom Solo 16'

Was wondering if the value of the reduced windage on the lowered bow and stern stems is sacrificing seaworthiness when punching through chop or high wind waves? I sure like the lines of the design. Man, you guys sure don't make it easy on trying to decide on a design. I do realize that your...

    Update update

Not aware of any of the behind the scenes operation of a site like this, but am willing to do whatever I can to assist, whether it be financial or other, as I truly have enjoyed being here!!!! It is a rare day that I don't read through all of the new posts. Hopefully soon I will be able to share...

    Hand wear in colder Temps

Thanks for the advise on the pogies. May have to try a pair as well. Glad to know you have been pleased with the Fallline pogies. Read some reviews on some of the cheaper offerings, and I can see how some folks might get a sour taste for pogies, if they have only tried the entry level models...

    Hand wear in colder Temps

Looked up canoe pogies, as I have never seen anything like that around Louisiana. I can see how they could be really warm, without deterring the tactile feel of the hand on the paddle shaft, but am confused as to how they function on the hand that is on the grip. Do they make separates for both...

Yet another tempting chair for the back country

I have a pair of Crazy Creek's, and enjoy the back support in the canoe, but do not enjoy being on the ground in camp. Also enjoy my diy hammock sling chair similar to the one Seeker showed, but I can't move it around a fire when the wind shifts, or move up to a fire to cook, or enjoy a group...

Hey Robin, somebody snitched your stove picture. And what a cool shot that was. Enjoyed sitting vicariously by that fire.

    Cheap alternative to Blue Barrels

Thanks GearFreak. Have a cousin that has shown me how to load bobbins and properly thread, and set tensions. Saw her today. She looked at me real funny when I asked her if my needles would run Gutermann Mara 70 thread? How do you know about 70 thread? I just smiled and said "GearFreak". She said...
