    Canoe/camp gun

Brad, My wife's grandparents hunted and fished out of a canoe a lot in Canada. They packed out a few moose (not at the same time) and her grandmother caught a trophy pike (56" if I remember correctly) out of their canoe. It's still funny to hear the pike story, it pulled their canoe around the...

    foot brace use

Yes they are bolted in with the supplied hardware. I had asked on here (or maybe ADKforum) about epoxying them in because I didn't want to drill holes in the hull. I believe YC replied her experience with them popping of because of the flex. It made sense to me so I went ahead and bolted them...

    foot brace use

Found them. I went with these peg kind instead of the cross brace type for a few reasons. 1) they are easy to adjust. 2) the pegs are removable from the slides. 3) they do not get in the way when packing for multi-day trips. 4) my.....dare I say it......cooler fits between them and they...

    foot brace use

I installed adjustable foot pegs, like come in kayaks, in my solo this summer. I installed them so I can slide them all the way back for when I'm sitting or slide them all the way forward and use them while sitting on the floor. I have not tried sitting on the bottom (in the water) but the...

    Paddle

Robin, Thanks! It moves along nicely. I was told the canoe is from the Shenandoah Canoe co. not sure of what model. I searched online and found a little info on Shenandoah Canoe company but nothing on any of their canoes. I did ask about it on the ADKforum and got some info (from madmike I...

    Paddle

Bluegrasscanoe, That sould be a good canoe for fishing. I had a Old Town Discovery 133k quite a few years ago, it was about 40" wide and nice for fishing. I never tried a double bladed paddle with it, always paddled it tandem with single blades. I did try it one time solo with a single blade and...

    New Pennsylvania Guy

Welcome Dave! I'm in PA also, live down near Allentown but have a cabin in Pike county near Porters Lake. I spend a lot of time paddling up your way. Been to shohola a few times but haven't paddled there yet. Maybe we could meet up there sometime and you could give me some pointers with the...

    Paddle

I do not consider myself an experienced paddler so I will just tell you what I do. I use both a single and a double blade. I use the single for casual paddling and streams and the double on big water crossings or if I'm in a hurry. If I'm using the double then the single is my spare and vise...

Nice TR. I was there August 13th to the 17th. I would bet we passed somewhere, you started on site 3 and I ended on site 3 (last 2 nights). Talked to ranger Dawn Wednesday morning in grass pond, and again Friday at the upper dam. She is a nice lady and does a great job.

    I think I'm in love

Hey Drift Wood cut off about a foot of a swim noodle and try kneeling just in front of your seat with the noodle under your ankles (port to starboard between the hull and your ankles). L'oiseau, Sorry for the hijack.
