    GCHS Outers Spring Trip 2017

Are you the guy that catches the fish at the beginning of the video? Always good to put a face with a name. You are doing a wonderful thing bringing young folks out canoe tripping. Maybe, hopefully if more people bring kids out tripping these wonderful places will be conserved going forward...

How do you store your food waste trash at campsites?

I done what Odyssey does, but double bag. Put our trash in a 2 gallon ziplock and double bag it with a second 2 gallon ziplock and keep it in the blue barrel or food bag. Based on the amount of trash we generate one set of baggies lasts our family of 3 approximately seven days. I need to double...

GearFreak - thanks for you comment! Nibimocs is such a fantastic photographer and makes wonderful canoe tripping videos. I think very highly of Nibimocs and watch all of his BWCA videos. 9 Day Family BWCA Trip

On our 2017 trip to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA) our family entered at Entry Point #48, Meeds Lake. We spent 8 nights camped on Meeds, Omega, Gaskin and Vista Lakes before exiting on Day 9 at Entry Point #47, Lizz Lake. We stuck our feet into mud holes and slipped and fell on slick...

Wollaston Lake to Goose Lake (Nunavut Border) and back

What a fantastic trip from the first word and the first photo you had me spell-bound. I like that sharp looking canoe! A long drive but truly worth it. I only drink water on trips and I'm a bit of an introvert, I'm afraid I would have done just as you did, turned down the drink and regretted it...

3 day trip with a wall tent - Haliburton, Ontario (Pic Heavy)

Really enjoy your eye for a fantastic canoe tripping photo. After hesitating for a couple years wondering if it would be worth the investment I bought my husband a reflector oven for Christmas. Turns out he loves it and having corn bread, biscuits, pizza, muffins, etc. alongside home-dehydrated...

My misadventures on the Connecticut River...

Nice thing about river trips, not much portaging. Bad thing about river trips, you paddle 22 miles but never get a portage break to rest your weary paddling muscles. I bet all slept soundly that night.. Yup, I agree, on trips optimism from information sources clouds the planning a wee bit and...

All-Night Paddle in the Great Dismal Swamp

Nice write up. You have a wonderful way with words. I don't like going on one night canoe trips, by the time you get to the entry point, get to camp, and get settled it's time to pack up and hurry out for the drive home. But I enjoyed hearing about your trip and look forward to more in the future.

BWCA Solo trip with my dog Jake

Thanks for sharing this awesome trip report. Really enjoyed your pictures. I especially like the picture that shows how you rig up your tarp so you may enter your sheltered area and tent without tiptoeing out into the storm. The chest looks like a chore to portage for someone my size, but wow...
