    Cell Phone Cameras???

I don't have a smart phone at all, I'm still rocking a Samsung flip phone purchased in 2014 on a pay as I go plan. For photo's I have a Nikon D3200 DSLR, for video it is a pair of GoPro Hero 4's and for every day stuff a Canon Elph 150 IS P&S. To each their own.

    Gunnels and Screws

Hey Jim, do you put the groundsheet inside or under the tent?

    Gunnels and Screws

I glue to inners on but screw on the outers as they get damaged more than inners. Nasty hiding granite up here is why we use outside stems and screws.

    Triple Portage?

Pack weight is what makes for more walking on portages for us. Generally the food barrel will weigh the most and we got rid of the 60l and use 2 30l's when necessary to keep the overall weight down. We shoot for 30 pounds per pack. We do take a 4 person tent for the 2 of us, we old women like to...

    Triple Portage?

Christine and I always have multiple carries since we don't scrimp on gear. We do break it up though, the longest we have done, 5 carries, 2.2 km for the first leg. Go 500 - 800 m and put the load down, walk back for the next load and walk it past the first one, walk back and pick up the dropped...

    Canadian border closed

I have some spare Ontario licence plates I can send you Robin. I imagine since Mem lives in the middle of nowhere and the paddling up there is awesome, the likelihood of getting the virus is limited. Much like here in Manitoba, again the middle of nowhere. Our friend Kim Pakwash Lake Camp in...

Thelon River, Northwest Territories & Nunavut (1993)

No, not at all. Not the bugs either, the ones here in Manitoba are likely as bad. Something epic like your trip is something I can no longer do. Due to some health issues I have not been on a trip in 3 years and not even in a canoe the past 2 years. Karin

    Build or buy?

Those ones from BC are kayak strips, you don't want those, they come from the dark side.

    Camera Bag

Pelican case for my Nikon DSLR. Bright yellow so I cannot forget it on a portage.

Personal hygiene on extended trips (The Deodorant Debate)

Skip the deodorant, add bug repellent. A little aloe for the inevitable sunburn. Biodegradable kitchen soap works for skin and hair as well. Wash clothes on body when the smell gets to be too strong. Karin

    Decked Kruger Seawind style build

Could you put a bag into the space and fill that with spray foam... it would take the shape perfectly but still be removable. Saves the time of having to shape a foam block. Karin
