    Third week in May half the Stuart River and half the Mudro permits were gone in a few hours. If you have a specific entry point and only one entry point allowed per day, it sure is nice to book it. While overall use may be down, I find the areas I want to go, even with 460 rod portages are taken...

    Any concern buying an electronic devise from ebay? I like that if I have any issue I can drive a 10 miles and exchange it at REI no questions asked.

    Completely agree. I hate having dead batteries to carry around. I bring an extra headlamp with fresh batteries instead of 4 extra AAA batteries. Not to mention the cost of AAA batteries. I wish my headlamp, GPS, and camera could all be charged from my power pack, would be much more convenient.

    Yes, not to be centered, but to balance the canoe out. If the canoe is symmetrical like a prospector it works perfectly. If it asymmetrical like my Morningstar, I move the stern seat forward to the bow distance from the center thwart if used solo only, if tandem just you the bow seat.

    I have a Bell Morningstar that I use as my solo. It has comparable specs to the Dagger. I had no problem going tandem with anyone as long as the seats were in stock position. I moved the stern seat forward 8 inches for solo, so it sits same distance from the center as the bow seat (asymmetrical...
