Grade A boat or a second?

Same as above. It's not what you paid for. It's probably as good as new, plus a little weight? Maybe a discount? +++

Waterproof case that holds phone and wallet?

I like the pelican case as well. They come in different sizes, and have a rubber liner. I usually also carry a 10000 mah battery pack in it. If the seal is clean, it's almost guaranteed water proof. Also it is easy to tye on loops or put on key rings ,because of a plastic bar and teather loop...

    2024 subaru outback stock crossbars

Its in the owner manual. But if you look at the passenger side rear, the mount is right behind it. I've been told it won't secure when retracted, and have to put back in stock position.

    2024 subaru outback stock crossbars

I have learned that the back cross bar can be easily re mounted abot 8" back. Gonna do that! Also I found spots under the hood and plastic that look good for tie down points. Subaru have been getting some good press around hear.

Just got a 2024 outback with basic trim. Like it so far! I as well bought it after reading various threads on hear. (Thank you all for sharing, youre voices and opions are well recieved) Definitely can sleep in back. I chose it over the forester because it is 2" lower, and longer. They say the...

    2024 subaru outback stock crossbars

Thanks for all the replies. I was just worried about those retractable bars ripping up, and out. On my last set up I used Thule square bars with gunwale stops. Are any of you using gunwale stops on the retractable bars. I thinking of just wrapping tape around and around to build up a stop. (...

    2024 subaru outback stock crossbars

Hello all, just got a 2024 subaru outback. After reading some thread on hear, it seemed like a logical choice, and a lot of people swear by them. My question is, are the stock/factory retractable bars capable of carrying a 15 foot / 30 lbs canoe at highway speed (70 to 80 mph around 18...

    Experimenting With Ceramic Coatings

Very interesting. I've used a rub on version on cars and it works, IMHO better than wax. Now iam just using a product that clames to be a gel coat sealer. The canoe is no faster, but it doesn't leave a sheen behind it when I get to the water. Thanks for sharing.

    Need suggestions for backcountry tent??

I use a eureka midori 1. It's a one person aluminum pole tent. 36" w by 88" L and 36" H. I like it, has good vestibules, and has good ventilation. I also am a fan of hammocks, but don't use them often on canoe trips. One of the main reasons is I find them not comfortable for "hanging out"...

    Straps Break?

I have seen a picture of this happen to a Hornbeck. What a heart break for him, and luck to the cars behind him. I have tulle straps and as mentioned on the other thread, iam gonna look for that tracer cord. I like the idea of two straps on the front. I would be very upset if my boat got tacoed...

New cars: are they as impossible as they seem for cartopping?

Yes it's all to much tech. This could be part of why used car are holding there value? Iam with the less/ no tech crowd on this one for sure.

    If I’m hauling there’s weather.

How often do you all replace the webbing straps? I have a pair that's about 4 years old, and was thinking about doing so. I like the idea of tying to the thwart, one more connection. I was also thinking about pushing the boat back (6" to 12"), any thoughts on that would be appreciated, as of now...

    A perfect paddling day - I didn’t go

You know you. Like a fire, build it slow, and watch it grow! No new news hear. Reinjury makes it much more complicated, and much longer to recover. Good luck.
