    Morsan tent, ideas wanted

Morsan, that sure brought up some memories! Morsan use to be located in Paramus, NJ. They were in the building that is now Campmor's store on Route 17. One of my first tents was a canvas Morsan tent. Thanks for the memories!

    Klepper Kamerad TS rebuild

"Without gear in the boat in-water recovery is impossible with float bags. I have capsized one of those boats when day paddled empty and it took me a very long time to bail and pump out that XL sized bathtub full of water, and that was after having swum the hull to shallow flat water where I...

Understood Mike. Just thought I'd toss that out there. Recently I've seen some video's on the Falcon sail. It's masted, but looks simple enough and I like that the center of gravity with it is lower than the Pacific Action sail, which from my own experience can get pretty squirrely in high...

No hissing! I only wish I had brought my 300mm lens with me instead of the 200mm lens I had. The 300 is a Canon IS lens, the 200 is an low priced lens I got that came with the camera and at a full 200 the quality is not that good. The 300 is outstanding at the long setting. This is the...

Last week during an early morning paddle at Split Rock reservoir in NJ, I came across these guys... https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/109227719241938487931/albums/5939660219546579409?ie=UTF-8 Andy

No Permits needed. The put in sucks, but doable. Northern end of the lake is the prettiest. If you go, go up along the western shoreline, more scenic than the eastern side.

Just a 3 hour paddle, but was on the water at dawn which made for great lighting! http://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/109227719241938487931/albums/5939238753025973713?ie=UTF-8

    Sawyer Summersong restoration

About the paint. I bought cans of a "good" quality automotive spray paint. I drove around for weeks looking at cars. I knew I wanted an ivory color and found that Chrysler had a nice ivory that I thought would look good. Each can cost me nearly $20. The boat scratches easily, and I'm Ok with...

    Sawyer Summersong restoration

Thanks, she's a nice ride too. Coming from fast sea kayaks and a surf ski, I found the Summersong very easy to paddle and quite fast, with a double blade paddle.

Mike, another project! Have you given any thought to trying a masted or lateen style sail that would allow some tacking capability as a change from your spirit sails? Heading up my way anytime soon?

Stripping, lot's of sanding, filling in, sanding again, primer, final coat then clear coat. Next time, I'd go to home depot and buy cheap spray paint.

I picked the canoe up 2 years ago for $200. I knew what it was and the potential was obvious...to me. The first batch of photo's show the prep. https://plus.google.com/u/0/photos/109227719241938487931/albums/5932902693955342561 This next batch of photo's show the completed...

I'm sure many of you already know me from P.net, but thought I'd spread my wings and come here on occasion too. For those that don't know me, been paddling a long time, with a bit of a hiatus when the kids were growing up. Currently, the "fleet" consists of a Sawyer Summersong that I restored...
