    Spider Cracks

If you really, really want to do something with it, you can cut a fillet along each leg and fill with epoxy. Wet sand and polish. It's a pain though, and if you nick the fabric it fuzzes up and looks even worse. Speaking of worse: 😁😁

Hmm, interesting. Still related to a possible 3M change, or is this two separate issues?

The New Swift/DY Redesign of the Dragonfly

I dunno, I really like the innegra weave look. It definitely looks better in person though. Pictures remove a lot of the visual depth. The "primer gray" is carbon weave that is not translating at all through the camera. In the flesh, Swifts were easily the best finished boats at the show...

The New Swift/DY Redesign of the Dragonfly

Just dropping a pic in here. It was a fine looking craft, indeed. Still too small for me, but there was hint about a larger tripping boat coming later this year. Sounded like another upsize of the "Dragonfly" , but might have referred to the prospector 15. In any case, I was bummed that the D15...

    Canoecopia 2025

As I told the reps, I'm glad Wenonah is bringing some newer tech to their boats. Their colors look nice, and have good saturation/hue. The interior finish on the Innegra is quite smooth, which will help with cleaning and hinder traction. The darker skin really showed the rivet pinch of the...

spray cover without snaps or velcro

I talked to Cassandra Vore (Red Leaf Designs) about the 3M-backed snaps yesterday at the show. They no longer recommend them as they have experienced a degradation in adhesive effectiveness. Cassandra told me that they believe 3M implemented a formulary change, which has reduced adhesion to...

    Canoecopia 2025

We, uh, came away with different experiences. Probably because I reject the underlying premise, which necessarily makes the rest of the presentation somewhat moot. I did agree with the idea that cultural norms are sometimes antithetical to choosing to participate in certain activities. The...

    easy to cook dinner options

What's the reasoning for no meat? Does she not want it in the house? I'm not taking shots either way, it's just kinda cryptic and might influence responses. Dehydrating your own meals (with meat) will require meat in the house. The easiest to prepare are freeze-dried meals. I prefer Peak...

Recreational Barrel Works 2-Part Canoe Pack

I got to see it in person at Canoecopia today. These are not small duffels. The two together are easily bigger than my CCS Guide or Battle Lake Grand. I like being the idea of being able to separate gear. Bedding and clothes in one, tents and tarps in the other. Plus load splitting in a solo...

PortagePal to carry paddles and fishing rods

I'm clearly in the minority, but I will probably purchase one of these. I'm thinking of some uses outside of the ad copy, but we shall see. I've certainly paid more for other let downs.

    Which Canoe For Summer Solo?

The Trapper is a very stable boat. You will have a lot of fun in it!

    Looking for a Dagger Caption

Whitewater Gear Sale and North American Canoe Trader groups on FB are probably your best best for locating one quickly. I hate to steer anyone anywhere but here, but the classifieds don't get as much traffic as I wish they did.

spray cover without snaps or velcro

Red Leaf Designs has snaps using a 3M adhesive. No drilling and very durable. They will be at Canoecopia if you want to see it in person. The Vores are great people. https://redleafdesigns.com/pages/what-kind-of-snaps-should-i-use I love the ingenuity of your solution, but am a bit concerned...

How much safety is too much safety?

Raft. Guide was high as **** and broached us on the ledge river right coming into the drop. I got pushed out by another paddler losing their seat. D2O is right... I don't remember the CFS, but it seemed rowdy. Got pinned for a bit on the undercut. Had the whole panic/last thoughts/peace and then...

    Which Canoe For Summer Solo?

Canocopia is totally worth the haul if you want to see the state of the industry and where hull technology has gotten. You will be able to see/touch/lift hulls all the way down into the teens of pounds. The only traffic I think you would run into would be that stretch of I41 by Green Bay, and...

How much safety is too much safety?

Semantics post ahead: Too much safety is any safety measure you didn't use. Not enough safety is needing a safety measure you didn't bring. Preparedness is the balance between the two. I wear a PFD, always. I've NEEDED a PFD once. Pillow Rock, upper Gauley, 2007. I would have died without it...

    Canoecopia 2025

Heh, we had Liberty Station last year for our Saturday lunch. We usually leave Saturday after the show, so we miss the BWCA dinner. I'm always down to meet canoeists.

    Canoecopia 2025

My son and I will be there Friday and Saturday. Helinox has had cots on Friday but not Saturday a couple of times. The Impression Solo and the Angler Ace are the longest two BB paddles at 280cm. I bought one or the other there my first year. If you call them and ask, they will bring one and hold...
