Nice job on those seat rail ends to hull fits. Not easy to do! I don't have personal experience with installing a seat that way, but I'd feel more secure with a supporting ledger fitted to the seat rail ends, glued to the hull.

Thanks Patrick. I used a couple of gouges, mallet and 40 grit sandpaper. That worked well and afforded me more control than an angle grinder with flap disk.

The gunnel top surfaces tip slightly to the exterior. I trued them up side to side with a block plane except for where they approach the stems. I’m planning small, simple cambered decks. Hopefully everything will blend nicely.

You're making great progress and your hull looks really nice. On my build I used clear packing tape on the forms and had no tape transfer to the hull. Thanks for taking time to post your build in such nice detail.

Advise that's been helpful for me on up and downstream travel is to focus on where you want to go, not on what you want to avoid. Not exactly sure how that works, but it seems to.

I think you can keep tapering until it pleases your eye, keeping everything square and sharp until you've added necessary thickness at seat and thwart locations. Rounding over is the easy part and with the skills you've demonstrated so far you won't have a problem. Nice work!
