Northstar Magic KevLight (Starlite) - $2000

2014 Northstar/Bell Magic solo in their Kevlar layup with aluminum trim and adjustable foot brace. I believe this layup was called KevLight at the time, it's the equivalent of Starlite in their current lineup. Weighs 31#. Boat is in great shape overall, with light scratches from normal use on...

Newby. Help with tandem selection, please.

My goodness that is an incredibly nice looking boat. Congrats!!

Polaris compared to NW16: efficiency difference?

Alright, I have given up on finding a decent used tandem relatively local. So I'm biting the bullet and will probably just buy new. If so, I'm going to try and buy the ONE to fit my needs best. Help a fella spend his money? 😄 I have a Magic and Trillium now, so I'm familiar with Northstar, and...

POLL: How do you pronounce portage?

I'm from Alabama. Nobody knows what I mean if I use either pronunciation 😄

Best Places to Live in the US for Canoeing?

North Alabama is NOT the place. If that's any help. The "River" is huge and it's either a barge channel or a giant shallow mud hole. Any smaller creeks/streams are either an inch deep or have a thousand drunks floating them on coolers every weekend. Not that I'm bitter about it 😄

    Multi Tools

I've carried the same Leatherman Charge in my pocket every day of my life for the last 23 years. And it's seen very heavy use as a mechanic for a lot of that time. My warranty will be up in two years and I'll finally replace it. When I do, I'll buy another Charge or maybe the new Arc. The...

    Peak Refuel Freeze Dried meals

I have enjoyed several of the Peak meals as well. I think they may be my favorite of the readily available complete freeze dried meals.

Help me upgrade from my current solo: Wenonah Vagabond

Thanks man! And you're telling me I NEED a new carbon paddle? ....noted. And agreed. ;) Soon as the bruises to my bank account heal up, it will be on the radar!

Help me upgrade from my current solo: Wenonah Vagabond

How dare you...... 😄 I was just thinking that maybe I NEED a new paddle. I usually use a FOX Worx bent shaft but it almost seems to be too much motor with this new boat. I find myself having to purposefully ease up on the gas at times lol. Honestly though I do need a new straight shaft. I have...

Help me upgrade from my current solo: Wenonah Vagabond

Well fellas, after much agonizing over the model and the hundreds of reasons I shouldn't spend the money, I bought a boat. I got a Northstar Trillium in Blacklite. It was a hard choice between the Trillium and the Magic when I had them both in front of me, but I went with the Trillium based...

Solo Canoe Recommendations Needed for Rocky and Low Water Rivers

I have a Vagabond in Royalex that's 44#. I weighed it myself with a hanging scale I trust. It's certainly not fancy nor does it have much rocker. But it's a nice boat for smaller streams and has pretty good primary stability IMO. It will be for sale soon. I just bought my first composite...

    Which Subaru?

I've had a few Subarus over the years. Im a huge fan. They are simple, easy to work on, and usually pretty reliable. They have, and always have had, the best AWD system on the market. I've had Foresters, and Impreza wagons. If you want to sleep in one, and have the easiest canoe loading, get...

    Northstar Polaris

Id Believe me, if I thought for a minute I could carve out the time, I'd be all about a trip just like that! Sounds to me like you're doing it right. I like your style! ....the wheels are turning they just aren't getting anywhere 😁
