Thank you that makes me feel a little better. It was glassed yesterday. I will give the epoxy a few days to cure good and then start scraping and sanding.

    bad glassing job

After 2 years I finally glassed the inside and it turned out really bad. I could see some spots not staying down good but the more I tried to work them out the worst they got. I ended up with maybe a dozen nickel size spots that are raised up about 1/16 inch and another dozen small spots. All on...

    glassing the inside

So still being new to this I have a lot to learn. If I only do a wet out and no fill coat will the glass not soak up water?

    epoxy >?

Does this look to be good or should I sand it a little more. The vertical strips are from the shop vac hose.

    epoxy >?

I used a bando spreader for the first coat and foam rollers for the second and third. I guess I was just not getting enough down on the second and third coat. I should mention that the glass is 2 layers on the football down to a couple inches past waterline.

    Thank you.

    epoxy >?

That is 3 coats. Because it has been 8 months another coat would need to be mechanical bond and need sanding to achieve this. Correct?

    epoxy >?

I'll try to get it to show on a picture. But you have to look close to see it. It is like the epoxy was layer is not thick enough. Some of the canoe is smooth as glass and other places you can feel and see the texture of the glass.

    epoxy >?

Some may remember I started my first canoe last year. I fiber glassed the outside in October. Unrelated to that but I became sick and other things so was unable to do any more. I am now able8 months later to start back. I notice that the fiber glass is still visible in several places. I was...

    Temperature for Fiberglassing

As an update. It was about 80 -82 when I put the wet out on. By the time it had cured enought for the first fill coat it was around 70. The temp had dropped to about 60 when it was time for the second fill coat and dropping (2am). I was afraid to go for it so waited untill the next morning. I...
