The Dayton (Ohio) Canoe Club.....Last one standing

Thanks for posting that. It's a tribute to the city of Dayton and clear evidence that Dayton has had generations of quality people hanging out down on the river. Sounds like my kind of place. I hope clubs like that become all the rage again.

    Elasticity

Try a pair of Grammici Climbing pats. They come with a zipper, button, and belt. There was a non-zip button also. Not sure about now. Nice cotton twill that sticks to the seat better than synthetics. I have 2 pair that are 8-10 years old. I think Moosejaw has them.

    Look what I found!

Thanks for all the suggestions. Got all the stickers and residue off without damaging anything. I used a hair dryer to soften up the Royalex sticker and it came right off. it had felt brittle and chipped at the edge prior to heating. I had used Goo-Gone(orange peel stuff) on the residual sticker...

    Look what I found!

See the remains of a sticker on the floor by the rear seat? That was a sticker that nothing has helped so far. If anyone can recommend anything, I'm all ears. I want it off too. It feels brittle but has a sublayer. Will try any product that won't damage the vinyl outer layer.

    Look what I found!

I've had a Royalex Penobscot 17 for a few years. I love the way it paddled on moving rivers and it will haul a load, but it was too heavy for me to load on my truck by myself and too big to solo. I have been watching Craigslist for a while for a Penobscot 16. Most I saw were too beat up or...

Paddling humor: one-liners said to you while paddling

An old friend of mine who has passed was a favorite fishing buddy. He was always up front(the choice spot) and I handled most of the paddling and all the steering. He had a tendency to run through the beer pretty quick, but managed to keep a line in the water. Almost every time we encountered...

    Old Town Penobscot Models?

I have a Penobscot 17 in Red Royalex. It's right at 70 lbs which seems light when looking at the big beast. It paddles light with 2 people. I've used it mostly on fast, bony class 1 rivers. It responds well if you lean into it, but plows through anything like a tractor if you aren't comfortable...
