Manitou

Grew up canoeing on Maumee river, Perrysburg Ohio, trapping muskrats. Summer place on Lake Lelenau Michigan. Canoe tripped out of camp Temagami 1970-72. In 1972(age14) we paddled from Hudson bay to Lake Temagami. 1973 Camp Ahmek in Algonquin National Park. Stopped canoeing till after kids were somewhat grown. Bought a Great Canadian "Huron" 15' tandem in 1999 when we moved to Massachustees. Used it for fishing and family picnics out onto islands in various lakes & rivers. Moving to near Glacier Nat. Park Montana in Nov 2021. I expect to use the Flathead river as my training ground for paddling upstream & fishing stock. In 2033 when I turn 75 Im putting my canoe into the Pigeon river between Minnisota and Canada, and follow Alexander McKenzies route to the Arctic. I dont expect to make it.... My family thinks im nutz, but its FAR better way to die than rotting in an old folks home.
