I’ve seen old cane seats, where the cane was removed, they were flipped upside down, and then webbing was wrapped with stainless staples to replace the cane. It turns out great and is a cheap solution to rehab the seats.

I put up a rack in my garage with 2x4s and construction screws and it’s currently holding 3 canoes and around 180 lbs without issue. I built it so I could put a 4th canoe on small stands underneath it at ground level. It was cheap and easy and feels quite sturdy. I might have $100 in it.
