How to bail out when kneeling

Great information. I’m in that mess around and get used to it phase for sure. I envision kneeling mostly for when I want to cross some open water, cover some distance or if the wind picks up. Kneel, break out the kayak paddle and power thru. Maybe fish some of the wider rivers out west once...

How to bail out when kneeling

Fear of drowning? Yea, it’s a big issue. Lol. Kidding aside (kinda), I’m sure as I get used to it I’ll get a better feel as to just how hard / easy this maneuver would be. I’d rather ask now than find myself in a life or death “oh sh@@“ moment. Not a big deal in that there’s no rush to...

    RedLeaf Designs kudos!

Purchased a cover from these folks and was very happy with the whole process. The cover is perfect and Jeremy was as nice as could be on the phone. They even included a nice handwritten thank you card. Classy. I would not hesitate for a moment to buy from them again. Highly recommend.

How to bail out when kneeling

Hmmm. Possible mod in my future. For now I think I’ll stay away from kneeling. Plenty of other things to master. May very well double back at some point and try the foam mod to keep things light (and cheap) ….but that carbon fiber seat set up is nice. Thanks all for sharing!

Can you guys post a picture of your pedestal seats? I also like the idea of a quick release seat.

How to bail out when kneeling

Still playing around, trying to figuring things out and getting comfortable. Loading / unloading for transport, kneel vs sit, single blade paddle vs double blade paddle, etc etc. It dawned on me that when kneeling, bailing out when the canoe rolls over could be a scary situation. While it’s...

Finally got the Prospector on the lake yesterday. Absolutely love it. The whole ordering / delivery process with Swift was as advertised. Thanks for your help!

Kayak paddle width question - gunwale / water level / max width

While I await delivery of my P14, I’m looking at kayak paddle sizing charts and wondering if I should use gunwale, water level or max width of the canoe when figuring out what size. P14 G - 28”, WL - 28” and Max width is 32” ? Thx

Pulled the trigger on the P14 in Expedition Lite Kevlar, carbon/kevlar trim, epoxy resin upgrade and skid plates. Amber hull. Approx 31#. Will hopefully see it by the end of January. 🤞

Newby. Help with tandem selection, please.

Stillwater didn’t paddle too bad, but at this point I don’t know what I don’t know. I could easily stand up and fish out of it. I stood up several times and moved around some. No problems at all. What was eye opening was how hard it is to load this by myself on the roof rack. Although a bit...

Newby. Help with tandem selection, please.

Good info. I hope to get the Stillwater in the lake this weekend to try it out. Only had it in the pool for a few minutes to play around on it. Couldn’t really tell much other than paddling solo from the stern seat its waaaay outta trim. Didn’t even realize at the time paddling from the bow...
