We haven’t canoed yet, between traveling earlier this year and the heat/humidity it been tough. Hope to start this August up in the dak’s.

I am thinking of putting stainless steel marine eye straps on the bow and stern. Mount them with stainless steel screws to the E6 carbon end decks.

Yes, that’s the only thing I dislike about our 2023 Outback Limited XT, the rack. I am going to try Inno INFR mounts to attach my Thule square bars on the aluminum corners of the current rack. The rack on the new 2026 Outback is going to be good for carrying canoes.

Nobody is going to be driving anywhere if this Apocalypse involves EMP’s.

Ok, no need for pictures. My 2023 XT has the not canoe friendly factory rack. Wish it had the Wilderness rack, but looks like the new 2026 Outback will have a better rack.

Bill, what year Outback and do you have the factory rack? Pictures of your setup?

I had a 230 and paddle low angle, but when I bought my Northstar Trillium pack canoe the cockpit is wider and I noticed the 230 wasn’t in the water very long. Switched to a 250 and the difference was night and day, much more speed.

I like my Sea to Summit Ether Lite XL and place it on top of a ExPed FlexMat LW for protection and added insulation.

I won’t get out until after June. Just came home from robotic surgery on my bladder, stones and resizing, and my prostate. Kind of sore from those five small incisions for the robot.
