    Looking at the Sand River trip.....take the rail from Sault Ste. Marie to a drop off point, paddle to Superior.....tons of portages, but sounds like many of those rapids are runable with the right boat/experience. The Agawa River trip looks nice, too! Regarding Algonquin....what is the motor...

    Odyssey, I've never been to Algonquin...would like to try that sometime....much closer to home than Quetico! The terrain on the east shore of Superior had much more relief than I expected....same in Algonquin? The friend who lent me his Swift Winisk heads up to Lake Saries (sp?)..to the west...

    Lake Superior Provincial Park

    OK...back from our exploration of Lake Superior PP. This was a trip with my 15 yr old son (he did a BWCA trip last summer)...we ended up putzing around the area. Spent 2 very nice days/nights on Lake Mijemungshing. Pretty much covered the entire lake in those two days just paddling/poking...

    Hi Odyssey....well, just kinda getting back into the paddling. My favorite destination, and the only one where I've done any long range tripping, is Quetico....been up there 6 times, the last being a 132 mile trip over 12 days....covered a lot of water on that one. Here in WV I do little day...

    Lake Superior Provincial Park

    Thanks, folks. APPaul....won't be on Superior itself, but rather smaller lakes to the east. I'd have to do a lot more prep work for that big water! Odyssey....yep...looking at those maps. Seems doable. I'm itching for a trip as my last big trip was a 12 day in upper Quetico....135 miles...

    I have an unplanned week off and am thinking of driving up to Lake Superior Provincial Park for a 3-4 day canoe trip. Looks like there could be some fun poking around Gamitagama/Old Woman Lake area....anyone have any first hand advice for this area?
