Note that I said occasional. I normally use a kayak paddle in my solo boat. I’m thinking of a narrow strip of leather in the small strike zone, but recped’s suggestion about whipping is a good thought….

Does anyone pad their gunwales with anything? Only purpose would be to soften the occasional banging of paddle to boat. Hate to break the quiet solitude!
