I like to tell people “this place is like Miami compared to where i moved from” This graph confirms that! All that green stuff in western N.Dakota was home for roughly 15 years. It also agree’s with one of Custers officers who upon seeing the badlands for the first time commented; “it looks like heck, with the fire put out” !

Oops, windy day today; tail end of the recent storm I guess. Rain softened soil and gusty winds today brought this down. It's a Spruce of some variety, with lots of Ivy climbing the tree as well. Maybe I can salvage some w/c canoe parts from it!! Gotta look on the bright side!

The wind moderated a bit today and Sadie guilted me into an evening walk. It was nice.

14+ years old and still a champ at -8. Once it drops under -10 it gets to be too much for her feet.

Some siding needs patching. Gutter bent. Haven't seen roof but not suspecting any serious.

Alan, I hear about your dog. Jake‘s hip is real bad. When temps are this cold and snow so deep, he can not keep up with me anymore when I snow shoe … he just gets stuck and shivers or tries to keep a paw out of the snow. He is just too old.
