I heard all about the Nor'easter heading that way on the radio this morning. I've never ever seen as much snow as the forecast predicts for you easterners. Hope you're all hunkered down and snug for the duration. I hope you have all the groceries tucked safely away.
Meanwhile back here in milder climes and semi-civilaization, I'm on the first day of a "mutually agreed upon diet". I musta been nuts, or more than likely basking in the gastronomic afterglow that comes from prime rib, roast vegetables and poached pear in pastry with ice cream. There we were driving home yesterday after a sumptuous meal in an old country house, and she suggested "Going on a small healthy diet, just for a few weeks", and so I said "Sure, no problem. I can support you in that." I think we might've had our "mutual" signals crossed. My idea was the kind of support you'd give a passing marathon runner, when you hand them a bottle of water and say "Well done! You're almost there! See ya back at the car!" Her idea was more of a fellow participant in the gruelling race, both of us profusely perspiring, almost expiring, and saying things like "Isn't this fun? We shoulda done this years ago!" So now I'm having No breads, No dairy, and No fun. Oh, and to make it all the more miserable, No coffee. We'll see how long this "mutual" thing lasts. I guess it could be worse if the power went out in a snowstorm. Mind you, if that happened, I suppose she couldn't see the fridge light go on, from my midnight snacking raid.
Good luck out east.
