Photo of the day

The Wenonah Fishing Trawler. The fish didn't stand a chance.

The joy of the hard to get to lakes is the fish hardly see any pressure and are generally larger and easier to catch. We didn't get to fish Gripp at all so I'm thinking of a return trip next year for fishing Marshall, Gripp and Faubert. From Marshall into Faubert and back out the same way potentially.

Nice photo Red. A nice study of life cycles amongst dazzling colours. So much to see on a forest floor.

Well I started at the beginning of this thread an hour ago.... And it looks like I have a few hours to go to truly catch up! I thought that I would make my contribution today; this pic is from the first night of my first "real" canoe trip a few years ago. If a picture is worth a thousand words, count this as my essay on why I love canoe tripping.

Second last day of Autumn this year. We are building a snow enclave around the fire pit so we can enjoy fires all Winter and not freeze our ....... off. We got a huge dump this week and it is snowing like a turd again, so perfect time as the sun sets.

So, I was going through some photos to post one on the "snow canoe" thread, and ran across this from an earlier trip this year on the Snake...

Some people stay inside, when it's Winter, and some revel in it ! I'm with you !

We were paddling along the shoreline looking for Memequay's lost ball cap when we saw this.

I'm with you Odyssey. On my trips last summer, I made a point to be the first one up and get the fire going, made my coffee, and sat and relaxed tile the first kid came out and then an other and an other...... But the few minutes alone was well worth it. Some time i did the same at night waiting for every one to be in bed, putting a last piece of wood in the fire, going into the river for a bath, drying by the fire... That is life!

For us food is an important part of our tripping enjoyment!!
