Yeah I got carried away with these as you can see a couple posts up thread.

I have ( and still do ) use this method for fire starting for canoe tripping and lighting my wood stove while in winter camp. I see temps from low 90’s to well below zero. I soak my cordage in canning wax. Keeps jute dry, takes a spark very well, cold or hot weather, easy to get a fire from the ferro rod spark.
