10 years ago I ordered three 100 yard rolls of 1.5 inch webbing (red, black and blue) from Rochford Supply. Mostly because it was clearance priced cheap; I think I paid $20 for all 300 yards of webbing.

It has been fine for seats and such, and makes a flashy tri-color plaid, but I still have a couple hundred yards left. 1.5 inch wide is an awkward size for many common connectors.

1 inch webbing is much handier for standard ladder locks, buckles, grommet straps and the like. I have been buying 1 inch webbing piecemeal, 30 feet here, 50 feet there, saving scraps and running out.

Rochford sells 100 yard rolls of 1 inch black (other colors too) poly webbing for $10.40.

Jeeze freaking Louise, 100 yard of black webbing for ten bucks! That oughta last me a long dang while as shop stock.

Friendly folks on the phone. I guess I oughta look through their buckle and ladder lock assortment next time I order.

EDIT: Eh, screw that next order business. Rochford has side release buckles and ladder locks/bar slides that I can use on that 1.5 inch webbing:

And even shoulder straps (2 inch, but will work with that 1.5 inch webbing)

I will be making webbing harnesses for the big decked canoe DIY taper bags, even if it does mean sewing.
