Had the pleasure of paddling down the Silver River with my wife, son and grandson the othe day. Didn't see any monkeys but we did come across two grougs of manatees. The first group had 4 in it, 2 of which were very friendly and played around our canoes for about twenty minutes. The second group had 3 manatees in it. Not as friendly as the first group but didn't mind us being there. One of them was probably one of the biggest ones I have ever seen. I bet it was close to 4 feet wide and at least 10 feet long.
