In Memory of Willis

Two years ago today, I awoke to learn of the passing of Willis B, the founder of canoetripping.net. I had never met Willis in person, but was looking forward to the following paddling season as we were planning a trip together. Someday, Willis, I will do that trip and think of you.

Has it been two years!? I still think of him as well, and this legacy he has left behind. Like you Russ, I never met him in person, but we had many meaningful exchanges.
We had plans to paddle together in the spring...

I wonder if he knows how well the seed he planted did? For a while he was essentially posting to himself. Of course the forums have had good husbandry all along. Thanks for the reminder.

I entered this forum site awhile after your friend Willis had left it. Early on in my stay here I did a little internet looking to see who he was, but as you can imagine, those results only give a partial picture of the man. This respectful post and memorial completes the picture for me. Thank you for this. I've gone wandering back down threads, here and elsewhere, and come across Willis from time to time. He seemed a good and decent man, someone I'd like to have crossed tripping paths with. I hope their family and friends can find solace and comfort in knowing Willis and Wendy were so well loved and respected.
