My friend John posted this on FB, his son harvest this white tail doe this morning. I assume it was with a bow and the shotgun is for ducks, but just guessing. The canoe is a Chestnut Bob's, very old (30's ?) with those decks and seats.
Good to see this young lad out hunting and I hope he shares those tenderloins with his Dad!

Good for him, nice deer, nice canoe and nice SS. I'm going for the day today looking for a bison...

If those are original decks it could be a pre-fire canoe, meaning 1920 or so. Would like to see the inwale/stem joint to be sure as it changed significantly after the fire.

Ohhhh man I am getting itchy feet again. That is too cool. Deer blood makes for a nice patina on the inside of the canoe.

Nice... I love seeing kids (especially girls and dads) hunting... good times. I got a small button buck a few weeks ago when the season opened down here... Deer and squirrel hunting will keep me busy now through February.

The pic really puts the width of those Chestnut Bob's in perspective. I can see why these canoes were popular for hunters & trappers. Must feel good continuing the tradition in such a vintage boat.

Here's a shot of his Dad's backyard recently,
