I'm probably repeating myself, but here goes.
For the last few years, during paddling season, I've been going to a local lake, to paddle my IK, two or three times a week.
Most of the time I use a Werner Skagit CF. I have other Werner paddles that I use on trips and club paddles.
A couple years back, after it won a Paddling Magazine paddle of the year award, I purchased an Aqua Bound Stingray carbon, on sale, a close competitor to the Skagit.
I tried it and didn't like it as much as the Skagit, so used it as a loaner and never used it myself, after that.
I kept seeing Aqua Bound paddles winning awards and some online retailers have stopped carrying Werner.
So, in case my judgement of the Stingray was too hasty, I went paddling with it again and came to the same conclusion, the Werner is a better paddle. I think they've got the shape right.
Now, on average, Werner is a little more expensive, and I suppose personal taste comes into this, but I honestly think Werner makes better paddles than Aqua Bound.
I'm sure I'll get pushback on this, but I've spent an awful lot of time with a double blade in my hand.
