BOSTON (AP) — They say no man is an island, but Michael Richard Smith has been creating his own floating homes in Boston Harbor.
The Coast Guard and Boston police are keeping an eye on the unconventional camper who has been tying his canoe to small offshore docks in the city's inner harbor and pitching his tent to sleep at night.

I wonder how long he can stay outside, and an aluminium canoe really gets cold.
And I thought my canoe was loaded on my last trip with the wood stove and canvas tent. He could use that tent and stove this morning, pretty cool out there I bet.

Seas will be a problem for both his canoe and his docks.

I think he will be fine in the Inner Harbor. The Outer Islands are another matter. Prevailing winds are from the SW . I assume that with a Northeaster he might get out. East winds could be a problem. Equipment docks stay out all winter.

If you look at Google Maps you will notice many many hiding places.
