Based upon the dwindling threads it looks as though the Winter Blues have arrived or everyone is in some southern warm place away from technology.

Too busy to talk ... heading out shortly with the dog on snowshoes (you should see them on him).

My hubby is busy shoveling snow. I just have been too ill with the last round of chemo to care about anyones posts.. We are getting six inches of snow every day.. this weekend will be no exception.

I'm here in Maine preparing my daughters team for tomorrows toboggan races, very serious stuff, we where hundredth's of a second off the "women"s" teams first place last year. Some serious waxing going on tonight, along with a few cold one's and some pep talks.

Big day tomorrow, I kinda know how Bill Belichick feels like the night before a big game....

Winter blues: Yes.
Thankfully a nice warm up for the weekend so I'll spend some time outside splashing through the slush and mud with the dog. Spring can't come fast enough.

Only bright spot is I should be starting on a new canoe in a week or so, looking forward to this one.

And their costume? I was planning on going but I am exhausted with gi difficulties..not the time to use a porta potty.. Sorry for the graphic

Went out for a three hour trip last Saturday. Was supposed to go out again this Saturday. Then the bear came through the neighbors privacy fence and into my backyard. He ran around like he was out of his mind trying to get over my field fence/board fence in three places. So now instead of being out on the water will be repairing fences. Yes spring is here. My azaleas are blooming here in central FL.

We keep busy snowshoeing every week end, and walking up the cliffs out the back door after school, it as been to cold to xc ski. But've been running and walking during the week. It as been at least 10 days now that the temperature stays around -30c day and night. some time with a strong north wind.
Tomorrow is the start of the Yukon Quest sled dog race, so we will go in town to watch the start and wish good luck to our friends that run it! After that, we go back to the ranch were we went last sunday to snowshoe and have dinner with friends!! It will be a great weekend!! Spring might be in 6 weeks, but up here it will be winter for an other 3 months. Paddling season start some time early may...
Cheers

I am so hoping Robin got some videos of the toboggan championships. Of course he may have been busy as a toboggan tuner
A couple of years ago I wanted to try a peanut butter whoopie pie. The vendor said she only had a large..Well OK.
Large was 12 inches across.

There was a battle over the state dessert. One side the Whoopies with fierce battle from the blueberry pie people.

I've never had a whoopie pie and but I certainly hope the blueberry pie trounced it as far as the state dessert goes. Just doesn't seem like anything else would quite fit for Maine.

Hey Alan, how long ‘til spring in the Paradise? BWAHAHAHAHA.

Sadly, me neither. Maybe come April or May. June…..

The top of the driveway is a 30 yard long sheet of thick ice. If I touch the brakes when I crest the hill and with luck I will have stopped sliding by the time I finish fishtailing up to the mailbox. It’s the Hereford Zone drift.

Six more weeks to too dang long. I’ve got another couple of weeks of sanity, and then I’m heading at least as far south as the Carolinas.

It's been a slow winter here, and now the snow has been piling up. I have been packing about 15 miles of xc ski trails for the high school. We just had the last conference ski race today, state finals next week, and we'll have a couple of skiers in the Northeastern finals in Rumford ME in about 5 weeks.
The Fedco seed order is in so its time to think about getting the stand and the grow lights up.

Alan its best you don't know what a Whoopie Pie is, they are addictive.

I could count the days down if it would help, I will for me anyway. Since I primarily hibernate, getting through Winter is very anal in the fact I keep track of time gained since Winter Solstice. Out here that would be 1 hour and 7 minutes in the afternoons and 40 minutes in the mornings. Thankfully the time change is only 4 weeks away. I'm really tired of driving both directions of my commute in the dark. In the past month I have nearly hit deer on 6 occasions on the way home.
