Yeah, fighting wind and fast water obstacles is a trigger for sure. My little river doesn’t have any long peaceful stretches. Lots of sweeping, prying and bracing. Probably be the same on big windy lakes, I imagine.
Got to be a numbing boring game. Maybe there’s a non-violent quest involved. I’m not interested, probably (hopefully) won’t live long enough to get into it.
Saw a doctor. Extensive testing to insure it wasn’t shoulder or neck issues prior to my recent shoulder surgery. Carpel tunnel and arthritis is the diagnosis. CT surgery is a looong recovery and won’t relieve all symptoms. I’m thinking most of the pain and cramped fingers is arthritis, while...
That’s common in MN too, but I’d have mine hooked up to a filtration system and radiate it too. Cabin septic systems lined up right beside the hoses. Giardia ain’t fun. E-Coli even less.
I hurt myself handling yaks. Just had double hernia surgery 8 months ago. Lifting those heavy yaks on top of my Explorer was too much. Don’t think I can go again until the pain subsides, and then only to Subaru height. Plan was to use the yaks in the low poopy Ohio waters, canoe in the...
I’ve heard of that, but keeping micro plastics from leaching into the environment is not well served by spreading them across the surface, open to elements.
Where do old plastic canoes go when they die? Anyplace useful, just a landfill? The outfitters go through them like water. Some are sold, but they don’t live forever. Always wonder when I see a new spring fleet lined up at one of the liveries. Seems like the poly canoes could be made into...
I’d go but we have 3 dogs. They’re like big children, demand attention, want to be involved with everything, Hard to travel with, why we have a cabin now. Sound like a great adventure. Always wanted to go to Maine.
