Hello all,
I'm paddling a skin-on-frame through a chunk of the NFCT, and since I'm 'unsupported' in being a solo paddler with no friends in the area and an antique flip phone, I'm giving my shoulders a break every few days by trying to bounce my truck up the trail as I go, so if some emergency comes up I won't end up 300 miles from a way out.
I'll set out today from Saranac Lake; my plan at the moment is to simply leave my vehicle in town, canoe through to Plattsburg, and hitchhike back to it when I get to Plattsburg. The real crux is the complicated business of getting my truck across Lake Champlain; I haven't figured that part out, but I have a few days to think on it.

If anyone lives in or around that neck of the woods, though, I'd be happy to pay them to run me back up to S. Lake in five days or so. It's difficult to ask, but I thought I'd at least put it out there to the community. My number's 54oh-7five9-92oh5 if you're willing, it'd be nice to get a chance to meet up with fellow paddlers in the area.

Alternatively, if anyone has ever been in this situation before (a solo paddler trying to negotiate a vehicle), any tips or tricks would be welcome.

Just finished a drift boat trip on the Klamath River near the OR border. Water was fast and pushy. Lots of Class III rapids at this flow. We got worn out and shortened our trip. I just hitchhiked wearing a life jacket. Took 10 minutes to get a ride. Nice people are everywhere.

You're there today?

Some help on NFCT Far-Out app but that and Facebook NFCT trippers group are maybe not flip phone friendly. I know trippers talk about finding shuttles.

You might try Eastern View Outfitters in Plattsburgh:

I'm looking for others but no luck near Stanton VT.
