Hello,

As most of you are aware, my husband, Barry Rains, AKA Waterdog, passed away in January.

He was quite the collector of top-of-the-line canoes, paddles and other paddling gear.

If you followed him you knew that he had several canoes, including a Stewart River Prospector and a Bell Rock Star. Several of the others have already been placed in the loving hands of his closest friends. The Stewart River and the Rock Star are up for sale! At this time, no paddles or other gear are available.

I recently found out about the WPASCAR gathering this coming weekend in Slippery Rock, PA. This is only 2 hours away from my home and I am HOPING to get there to sell these. The only problem is that Barry’s 2005 Tacoma isn’t in the best condition, and I am not sure how it will handle the round trip. If I do not make it there on Saturday, if anyone is interested in making the 2-hour ride to Altoona to see the canoes, please let me know.

I have had a friend help with some of the detailed descriptions of the canoes since I have limited knowledge of them. They were both lovingly used and stored indoors.

The Bell Rock Star is a rare 2011 BlackGold 15’ 6” composite canoe with carbon on the outer skin and bottom foot ball and diamond, with layers ¾ yellow Kevlar 49 and ¼ black Kevlar 29 woven tweed. HIN is KS037H011. Always stored indoors and washed after every excursion. Asking $2000. Photos attached.

The Stewart River Prospector is a 2008, maroon, 16’ wood and Dacron canoe with an epoxy-graphite bottom treatment. Such a pretty canoe. There is a photo of Barry in this canoe on the Stewart River website https://stewartriver.com/. Additional information can be found at: https://www.canoetripping.net/threa...canoe-how-a-wood-dacron-canoe-is-made.114498/. Also stored indoors. Photos attached. Asking $2500.

Thank you for taking the time to look at and consider these boats. I know he would love to see these in the hands of someone who loved canoeing as much as he did.

If the picture files do not open correctly or you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly at sherlynrns@gmail.com.

As often said by Barry in closing,

Cheers!

Sherri
