Hello! I’m Shannon. I live in northeast Alabama. My home rivers are the Cahaba and Tallapoosa rivers. I’m glad to have found your forum. I am looking forward to learning what you know, and I hope to be able to contribute as well.
Nice to meet you, Bill. You absolutely should look into a southern trip! While I do see snakes, I bet there aren't as many as you imagine. The most unpleasant part of a southern trip is the hot summer camping!Welcome! Glenn will be around in a minute with official welcome but glad you're here. Always wondered if I should look south in winter for paddling but don't like snakes.

Yes, sir. Are you looking for somthing with cooler nights than Florida, or just something in Alabama? If you are looking for something cooler, I’d reccomend the Toccoa River Trail in Georgia. Alabama, the Cahaba or Hatchett Creek.Shannon can you suggest a short overnight in Alabama..We flee to Florida in Feb but this latest trip showed us climate change is real! We can't do 84 degrees for five weeks ,
