I can't believe I've not noticed this thread before...

What do I sleep on, mostly??

My back!! I always start on my side, but always wake up on my back.

Oh, and I use a Neo-Air something or other, I think it's about 14 oz and when deflated fits in a 1 liter Nalgene bottle.
Lightweight, compact, and extremely comfortable in my BA solo tent. I went through a phase a few years ago where I updated nearly all my stuff to be lightweight and simple. (kinda like me!! Haha)

And I sleep the same on a trip as I do at home...I typically wake every two hours, only for a moment or two, then back to sleep again. I've had the same sleep habits all my life.

All my gear doubles for backpacking, so weight matters. On the advice of my Appalachian Trail thru hiking friend, I recently upgraded from a (noisy) Thermarest Neo-Air to a Big Agnes Air Core. Comes with an inflating bag, and is much quieter to sleep on.

I'm on my 4th inflatable. First Exped and the valve failed. I returned it for a new and saw they replaced the valve with a burp valve. Eventually the glued seam between the air pockets failed, resulting in a big double-wide air bubble. The third was also an Exped, also failed in the same way. I noticed the seam that failed was at the location of the fold when stowing it. The 4th is a Mountain Equipment, which is still going strong. I now random-stuff my pads into the bag. The old ones make a great floor-mat to set canoes on.
