3 days, 3 nights at Lobster Lake in Maine, a beautiful lake with great campsites. The weather was as good as it gets, the lake was calm, the temps just right, and the skies clear. Most campsites where open and I only saw a handful of canoes. Motors are allowed and there where a few square sterns. Nearby Moosehead Lake was having a float plane regatta so lots of flight activity nearby, actually pretty interesting and I had a couple circle me low level so look for me in Float Plane Journal next month. Haha
This was a last minute trip, I saw the weather forecast and took advantage of it. I’m pretty sure this will be the norm for me in the future.
Nice easy canoe camping, 4FDEA168-AE10-441D-A4E5-58273F21C37B.jpeg04649254-1EA1-497A-9118-DB64653BE468.jpeg62A52658-5530-4CFF-89CF-6FE8EA8F3CB7.jpeg0B3D9A23-8CE7-4FF9-B97A-CE03081F711B.jpeg05BC3A2E-549F-4055-86FB-6B65C5C9D48C.jpegCF5C7DE6-1705-4454-BBEA-0F7256C2EA61.jpeg509ADDB0-021F-4041-A07D-91E42E09D597.jpeg

Enjoying your trip with my morning coffee, great pics, thanks for posting. It put a smile on my face .

The joys of an unplanned adventure! Did the new truck go on this trip, Robin, and how far is Lobster from your house?

It’s about 4 1/2 hrs from my house. I did take my new truck, it only had 300 miles on it when I left. I don’t have racks on it yet, so I put the 16’ Cruiser on my square stern boat trailer and tried that. It was a rough ride on those logging roads, the truck was a mess and the trailers fiberglass fenders got damaged by kicked up stones. Canoe seemed ok, but I won’t do that again.

The oversized mud flaps I had Chevy install really helped.AD82624C-4C59-4633-8CED-F62DA909B699.jpeg

Robin…Great photo’s , and a beautiful area. It was perfect weather!
I was north of you a bit on Round (trip report to come) for 5 nights. Lucky you came in through Greenville, I came that way and went out through Millinocket. The Golden from Telos out would destroy your trailer and your beautiful canoe.

Robin - The beauty of being retired is being able to take off when the time is right. So glad you were able to take advantage of that weather window. Great photos and I really appreciate seeing your latest place to camp & paddle.

That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

Thanks, Yes, the roads where rough. Last month we did some scouting for my daughters upcoming moose hunt further north (zone 2) and the roads seemed much better.

Thanks, I’m glad I was able to sneak away on short notice, next month I’m hoping for a trip north with the wall tent, wood stove and canoe, I’ll watch the weather.

Wow, super nice truck!

This must have been taken shortly after I left, there was a floatplane regatta on nearby Moosehead Lake and they used Lobster Lake for a meet and greet I guess.
