Video: Waiting on the Wind

Nice video. Brings back memories of that trip and also of days when things did not go exactly as planned. Thanks for posting.

Yes, I have camped on that island and the barrel was there. The island used to have a lot of garbage. We cleaned what we could and let Ric at CRCO (Churchill River Canoe Outfitters - for those of you not familiar with the area) know about the mess and he said he would get someone to go in and clean it up. It's been better since then. One time the island had a very habituated squirrel. We had our kitchen set up and supper was cooking but this squirrel could not be discouraged from searching our kitchen for something to eat. We had to stand guard and even then the squirrel did not go far. I think that's when we decided to camp elsewhere. We haven't camped there for a while choosing instead to camp on a higher site on a long narrow peninsula to the SE (if memory serves me) of the island.
Since we're talking, I've been wondering what pants and boots you use? I'm always interested in exploring new options.
Thanks!

Wow, I got a lot of traffic from this site on this video. Thanks to everyone that checked it out. You also stayed watching the longest on average by a very healthy amount. I usually post here, a place with 2 C's in its name, and on Instagram and no one came close.

@Ralph Here I'm just wearing a pair of jeans. I have a pair of Fj pants in the green pack for a dryer option. The boots are WindRiver Badlands duck boot. Nothing too special going on. I find in canoeing that for me most footwear becomes throw away after a season. I don't like to spend too much in that department and a year's wear shows.

Good to hear.

Very nice video. Different from the usual editing. Glad you left in the problems. Murphy's Law will always accompany a canoe tripper, and the best we can do is hope to minimize it. Are you palm rolling the paddle at 2:02?

I am in that shot. Thanks for watching!

I have another one ready to release. If you go to the community tab on my YouTube channel page, you can participate in a simple two option poll that will decide a detail of its release.
