Earlier in the week I needed to get some new scenery, a slightly out of the way spot recommended by a coworker got the green light. This is a three lake chain laid out in a north-south direction, with the access on the northern most lake. To access the middle section you have to sneak under a low snowmobile bridge (I had to sit on the floor and lay back on the seat to hand walk my canoe under it, low), followed by a “hidden” channel to the last section, got to log hop through that thanks to broken trees from all our snow this winter. Apparently people rarely paddle the middle, never the last. I’ll probably avoid it during skeeter season, but spring and fall will be nice. Loons, ducks, songbirds, drumming grouse everywhere, and the only nesting pair of swans I’ve seen in the area, just an all around excellent day paddle at a new spot!
