I know you're looking for a 2 person tent but honestly, I'd look for a 3 or 4 person tent instead; especially if this is for canoe trips where weight tends to be less critical. I've spent a lot of time in 2 person tents over the years and there's just enough room in most of them for the barest...
OK...I'll go...during the warmer months I usually paddle in shorts that double as a bathing suit so a sewn-in liner is part of the garment. Most of the ones I wear are made of nylon but some are a blend of nylon & polyester. All are quick drying and have plenty of pockets along with a belt to...
Back when I was leading trips I had a roll-up table that I used with adult groups. The legs unscrewed from the tubular aluminum frame and everything rolled up into one package. Easy to carry and stash in a canoe. With student groups I'd usually do the overturned canoe table option. When...
I was on a trip years ago where someone forgot the creamer for our morning coffee. I learned to drink it black (and have done so ever since) but that's the worst inconvenience I can think of. There have been some nasty black fly days in May along the Raquette River but even that just adds to...
Glenn - Thanks for posting these videos. We're heading to Scotland the beginning of September. Wonder if I can talk my wife into a paddling trip???
That's all for now. Take care and until next time...be well.

I remember a long ago trip on Forked Lake where we ran into folks who stored their food overnight in their canoe. They woke up to a mighty splash and found their food bag swimming off with a bear while their canoe was flipped over in the lake. Not my idea of a good time, that's for sure...
@Black_Fly - Saying you're a "Swiftie" has a whole different meaning on this forum. Go to a concert and say that and you'll probably be given a bracelet!

Not paddling related but hiking so here goes...
We were on a trip in the Catskill mountains of NYS and far from any body of water. As I came up a hill I heard quacking ahead of me. I couldn't figure it out as there were no ducks in the woods. Eventually I reached the top of the rise and I...
Just a quick apology to @PaddlingPitt as I screwed up and mentioned my experience via a lunar eclipse and he specifically asked for a non-eclipse event. I guess there are times when my brain and eyes just don't engage at the same time. Sorry about that...
That's all for now. Take care and...
Beautiful paddle. Tough to believe it's your first one. I'm sure others will find a home in your canoe as well. Enjoy them all!
That's all for now. Take care and until next time....be well.

Hope this all works out for you in the end. That's a beautiful boat and should have been treated as such by the person doing the work.
Until next time...be well.

Although it was a sea kayaking trip, I was with a group of students on spring break and camping on a barrier island just north of Charleston, SC. The night we were there, a total lunar eclipse was part of the night sky. I couldn't believe how lucky we were to have such an exceptionally clear...
@yknpdlr - So many words and still nothing resembling an apology. You can give me all the science you want. You still come off as a bore as far as I'm concerned. Feel free to show some humility once in a while. It might do you some good.
Until next time...be well.

PS - I don't...

My Native friends spent the day in ceremony reflecting on the relationship between Grandmother Moon and Grandfather Sun and their relationship to their daughter; Mother Earth. This is mentioned in all seriousness. I've learned a lot from these people and don't appreciate snarky...
