Robin, you have created a very welcoming environment for us to tell a few stories related to canoes and maintained a fine site here! A huge Thanks for doing that! Glad that you will now have more time for the trip reports and videos! Hint Hint! Will look forward to the new admin Doug! Welcome to...
I have an iPad Air2 with all the local maps stored in the internal memory using Topo Maps (app) and have it linked to a Garmin GLO gps unit. I can store and pin locations with description etc. I store the iPad in a Pelican 1065 Case for the rough use or mount it in the vehicle for my overlanding...
I have two major trips that are on the bucket list.
1st is a long road trip to Tuktoyaktuk (60hr drive one way) to paddle in the Arctic Ocean and paddle up to this wreck - 69.458533, -132.994209. Lots of lakes on the way out to stop and play at too and would like to paddle across the provincial...
A very nice Kee15! (I might be a bit biased too) Great video too! Just a hint but the canoe is light enough to blow away in a stiff breeze. You may want to get in the habit of tying off to something at the end of the day when the gear is out. You are really going to like the zero maintenance...
Thanks, you have a nice canoe for the back country travels! I really like the Le Tigre finish on mine too!
No one on this thread was taking about royalex canoes...? The only one lighter than the one pictured is the carbon-tec at 2 lbs lighter.
Thanks for the links! The web site is not as user friendly as I would hope for but will try sort out which is which for a Kevlar/cf blend. I am just happy with a few trips into the wilds with this Tandem. Cheers
I had not updated my repair to the tandem - http://www.canoetripping.net/forums/...o-17-in-kevlar -
So I figured I better share the start of this with just a few patches of Kevlar to make it water tight again. This works perfect with a load or even empty for some sightseeing. These pics were...
I was worried that I would never have caught up to you with the days lead. If I knew that you would spending the days cutting trails and fishing there may have been hope for me! A new routine may have been perfect!! Glad you shared the pictures and adventure!
I have a huge regret in not being able to join you two on this trip! Looks like a great area to play in and may get better the farther you get! I normally am on groomed trails so this would have been fun (Only have a folding hand saw with on my trips) I will have to save this for when work is...
You two did awesome! Thanks for posting the story and pictures. That must really make it tough not having the ports all nicely groomed prior to your arrival!
