wood canvas canoe tripping in France

Check out his steam box and a little workshop tour making it. ( etuve de bois = wood steamer)
I can see now why some of you rig up simpler contraptions to just get the job done, but M Castor loves wood. It's a fine looking box and no doubt sits pride of place on his shelf. Good stuff.

Nice gear and canoe on those trips. I've looked into canoe rentals and holidays on the Dordogne before. One of many daydream ideas I file away for future reference for when I win the lottery. That entailed visiting as many beautiful villages as possible.

And paddling the river...

...in-between cafe stops, deli stops, boulangerie stops, patisserie stops, swimming stops, napping stops.
Some paddling would happen, eventually.
Feels strangely familiar seeing traditional gear and canoe on a tourist river in France, but I like the idea of stealth camping on it's banks. There are campgrounds, but I imagine a wilder more serene setting suits Castor's style better.
Thanks Robin.

Good to have Tom here. I'm enjoying his videos.
Seeing that canvas sail made me smile. That would be incredibly pleasant to catch a breeze and drift past those cliff-top towns.
