Hi I am a new member from the Okanagan, British Columbia Canada,
I have owned an old Penwood fiberglass canoe, made in Pentiction, British Columbia for a few years.
In addition I just purchased an 80 to 100 year old wood / canvas canoe.
I took it out for a few quick trips, then peeled off the fiberglass, in preparation for a restoration.

Hi, Welcome. Glad to hear your dumping the fiberglass, hopefully replacing it with canvas. Post some pics of your progress, lots of folks hear like those old w/c canoes.

Thanks Robin,

Since I plan on using my woodie I have no intention of making it showroom perfect.
However I plan on doing everything properly.

I am lucky, Kettle River Canoes, a very talented restorer it just a very scenic 45 minute drive from where I am doing the work. With a beautiful lake in between here.
I have already gone down and asked Mike for some advice, and will probably buy most materials from him.
