Hey, all. I'm a bushcrafter/paddler from Virginia. I own a fox solo 14 and a 1994 royalex dagger reflection 15. I've been paddling with Dad since I could walk, but until this year didn't truly get into solo paddling. I'm looking forward to enjoying this great community and hoping I can be pointed in the right direction of several good spots in my own and neighboring states to paddle and camp, preferably in national forest!

Welcome from another guy new to the forum in Pinnacle, North Carolina. I'm an hour south of the intersection of I-81 and I-77. Where are you?

Best regards,

Lance

I'm in Rockbridge County, VA.

Being only two years now in North Carolina I still have to look a lot of locations up in here and in neighboring states. I see that you are about three hours from me so I can't help you with info that far away. I haven't read them yet but the books linked below might offer some ideas. You might even find them in your local library system.

North Carolina's New River State Park and Virginia's New River Trail State Park have camping areas with various levels of service (from none and very primitive to level tent pads, lantern posts and hot showers etc) along the New River. There are outfitters in both areas that will provide shuttles.

Farther upstream on the New, near Boone, NC there's another water trail you might want to check out. Again there are shuttles available.

Good luck and again, welcome to the forum.

Best regards to all,
