• Happy Midnight Ride of Paul Revere (1775)! ⛪🕯️🕛🏇🏼

Photo of the day

Mama, nice soft looking landscape. I love water lilies.
Turtle, that great midmorning (?) view holds so much promise of a fine paddling day.
Mihun, those dark waters, dark skies and dark forests look so threatening, and yet so captivating.

Finally figured how to post a picture, but it's too small. It's the Onion River in the ADKs.

Very nice. It looks like it was a beautiful day to be there. I can hear the water and smell the forest. Long time till spring.

Be hard pressed to find another location in Ontario with such a concentration of falls within about a 10 km radius of each other. We passed 5 of the 7 falls on the Lady Evelyn River system in the Temagami Canoe Area on that trip. Missing are Shangri La and Franks Falls as we entered the river upstream of Franks and downstream of Shangri La. Here's a link to the trip report with photos of the rest of the falls

Steve,
I was so impressed with that scenery, that I had to spend the last ten minutes reading about those falls...too bad it's not the same as it was 150 years ago.
What time of year is your photo from?

That was about a week and a half ago. Here's one taken from the viewpoint above a few years ago when it was poppin'. You'll note that they have tamed it a bit since the early days with the power project.......

Hey - Hanz's canoe porn shot is gorgeous! I can't top that, but I can add to the mix with another shot from the Shoshone Falls trip....

Oh, Stripperguy - BTW, on the trip up to Shoshone Falls, you have to portage at Pillar Falls. So you get two falls for the price of one, and they are very different from each other. Here's a photo from the upstream side of the pillars that lend the name...

Steve,
Thanks for that...we don't have any scenery like that in the ADK's...but we have good water 3 seasons long. Here's a look at Round Lake in the Whitney Wilderness Area
