One thing I'll say for Pelican, good product support. Although o-rings are not covered (2 seconds to replace them) they do cover everything else. The latches on my larger case are very very "tight" (unlike a couple of my small ones), since I'm running moving water much of the time I open and close frequently (except when I get lazy and then pay the price!), I've snapped several latches but a single call to Pelican and they send replacements gratis. All they want it the model and colour, they never ask a question about where or when you bought it and that guarantee truly is lifetime. Replacing the latches is a chore, you need to drill out the old ones.
Last time I needed a replacement I asked for a couple of extras so I could have spares readily on hand, they didn't blink, just asked me how many I would like. My original case which is about 30 years old has never needed a new latch or even an o-ring replacement so the latch issue seems specific to that particular case.
I've seen the Ortlieb cases, they are very nice and have a perhaps better latch system that might be more reliable long term but I've never actually owned one.
In my pelican I case the camera, spare batteries for camera, GoPro, and GPS, also sd cards for all these devices, pack of smokes and lighter and lately a small pipe and pill bottle for "medicine".
