I learned about these when I had to travel for work. If you like espresso and dark chocolate you will like these! Readily available through Amazon. Not a substitute for real coffee but on the other hand one of these will definitely take me another mile or two upstream.

I have been using single serving "Top Roast" liquid coffee capsules. Not bad(although I'm not fussy) and no grounds to pack out.

Hmm one in your pocket for a portage! Turtle it's candy.. not coffee.

Probably not good for FL canoeing.. :(

Looks like fun to me. Ages ago, someone gave me chocolate covered roasted coffee beans. Those were fun too.

I'm not that into chocolate, but Mrs. Claus found my sweet spot. Ha ha (ho ho).

Those chocolate covered coffee beans are trouble. In a good way.

We've collected some of those VIA coffee packets from Starbucks but haven't tried them yet. Hot chocolate powder often comes along on a trip so a caffè mocha shouldn't be too hard to brew. But not as handy as an espresso in my pocket. I'll look out for those, thanks Grumpus.

Each piece has the same amount of caffeine as 1/3 of a shot of espresso. Currently not made or sold in summer but they are working on a summer version. They are popular in Italy and Italians take their coffee pretty seriously.

I buy those VIA packets in bulk from Costco. They go with me any time I leave the pavement for more than an afternoon. Pretty good (much better than other instants I've tried), and they leave little trash to carry out.

Gumpus - I have a weakness for anything that puts dark chocolate with dark coffee. Thanks!
